The everyday collar: an adjustable strap, a quick-release buckle, and a D-ring for tags and a leash. This is what most dogs wear most of the time, and the things that matter are unglamorous — a buckle that holds, a ring that doesn't bend, and webbing that survives being soaked and dried a few hundred times.

Standard widths in sizes from puppies through large breeds. Measure the neck and allow two fingers underneath. If your dog slips their collar, look at martingales instead.
